The name Lele has been a nickname my family has called me from the age of 4. My younger brother could not pronounce Lesley, he would run around shouting ‘Lele Lele.’ All my friends and family to this day call me by it.

The me… I would make my bracelets for myself from inspiration from my travels, love of natural stone, gemstones and colour combinations. I am obsessed with mixing and matching opposite colours, textures, shapes and sizes. I was attracted to the benefits of wearing certain gemstones where my favourite is the Agates. It comes in natural/dyed, wonderful colours. The Evil Eye in some of my designs came from visits to Greece, Turkey but especially Santorini. Walking through the white and blue cobbled streets only triggered my creativity even more. The heat, the sun, the white floaty dresses just made me want to create jewellery of different combinations.

Receiving compliments and requests from people to create or make them jewellery turned into me jokingly suggesting ‘Do you want me to leleyou’ and that is why the name leleme (please lele me with your bracelets?)
